This week Nottingham is hosting loads of events for you to get out and be entertained. Whether you're a theatre enthusiast, a fan of live music or here for a bit of cultural celebration, there's something for you to get your teeth stuck into. Here are our top picks of the week...

Red Rum Club: Live Signing (Matinee)

Following the release of their new album Buck, the Red Rum Club are presenting a live matinee performance and signing at Rough Trade. An alternative rock band from Merseyside, their funky bass lines are set to tour the UK, U.S and Canada this year. 'Built for big moments', their new album Buck is promised to be their boldest creation yet, something ticket holders will experience live and at home with each ticket including a physical copy of the album.

Critically acclaimed and multi-award winning musical Blood Brothers is gracing the Nottingham stage this month. Hailed as the 'Standing Ovation Musical', this crowd pleaser delves into the tail of twins who, separated at birth, go on to meet after experiencing very different upbringings. This reunion is muddied by the fatal consequences that ensue. Blood Brothers has reached milestones in its tenure, having surpassed over 10,000 performances in London's West end so it is safe to assume this Nottingham showing will be a top notch performance.

Singer-songwriter Tom Grennan is coming to Notts to showcase his fourth studio album: Everywhere I Went Led Me to Where I Didn’t Want to Be. Released last month, Grennan says this album takes a leaf out of the books of Prince, George Michael, and Freddie Mercury. This will definitely be a memorable one – an exciting chance to catch the Found What I’ve Been Looking For singer and one of Britain’s pop heavyweights in his prime.

This Pulitzer Prize winning musical featuring raw storytelling is set to take audiences on the emotional journey faced by the Goodman family. Following Diana Goodman: a suburban wife and a mother suffering from bipolar disorder, it features Grammy Award winning composer Tom Kitt and Tony Award winning lyricist Brian Yorkey composed the play’s dynamic, rock score. Definitely check this one out if you think a good story like this could do your mind and soul some good.

Where: Royal Concert Hall

Thank You For the Music ABBA tribute band has been a staple entertaining the nation for decades. Featuring classic hits such as Dancing Queen, Super Trouper and Gimme Gimme Gimme, their spell at Nottingham's Concert Hall is set to be a unforgettable experience. In its 20th year of running, this performance will bring together their famous harmonies, glamourous costumes and well-loved characters to leave the audience thanking them for the music.

When: Sat 13 - Sun 21st September
Where: The Terrace, Broad Street, Hockley
How much: Free
Smallkid design, Howie Smith Projects and Deep Fake are hosting RELIC, an immersive street art show by Kid30. Offering a walkthrough of a 17th century weavers cottage and showcasing a collection of paintings and artefacts from the years 2035-2055, this exhibit will host something for everyone. With guest appearances from: Detail / Roadman Rails / Ging / Boaster / Grim Finga / Dizzy Ink / 2 Foot, a licensed bar available on the opening night and a gift shop, RELIC is bringing the party to the streets for this exhibit. Where: Wollaton Park

This month Wollaton Park will host Nottingham Mela 2025, a celebration of South Asian culture, in collaboration with Nottingham Asian Arts Council, New Art Exchange, and Gemini Sounds. The Mela will be showcasing Bollywood artists and performers, with Navin Kundra headlining, plus diverse food stalls, like The Bengali Kitchen, who often serve food at the New Art Exchange’s Corner Cafe, and lots of interesting and enjoyable workshops. Early booking is recommended as it typically sells out fast.
