The much-loved Christmas celebrations return to Nottingham's historic Malt Cross this December, bringing festive cheer, delicious food, and live music to the heart of Nottingham once again...
Back by popular demand is Beers & Carols - the iconic annual singalong that fills the Victorian music hall with Christmas spirit across multiple evenings in December. Guests can expect all the classic carols, plenty of pints, and that unmistakable community warmth the Malt Cross is known for.
One attendee shared, “A wonderful evening with family and friends! Travelling from Devon, this was our second-year attending! There’s nothing like singing these famously old Christmas tunes… Just look around the room. You’ll not find another crowd with this much happiness and joy.”
As always, entry to Beers & Carols will be on a first-come, first-served basis, with doors opening from 7pm. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to grab a seat, order a festive drink, and get ready to sing their hearts out. Optional donations on the door will go directly towards YMCA Robin Hood Group’s Christmas appeal, supporting local young people and families through the festive season.
Before the singalong begins, those looking to make an evening of it can book in for the Festive Feast - a two-course Christmas dinner crafted by the Malt Cross chefs for £30pp, featuring turkey with all the trimmings, indulgent desserts, and vegan-friendly options. Festive Feast guests will enjoy from 5pm, with dinner served at 5:30pm before doors for carols open at 7pm.
New for 2025, the Malt Cross will also host Sunday Dinners with Christmas Jazz, offering a relaxed seasonal roast accompanied by live jazz performances throughout December, as well as a Family Carols and Festive Craft Afternoon - a daytime event designed especially for families to enjoy carols, crafts, and treats in a warm, welcoming setting.
Joe Piliero, Executive Director - Hospitality, YMCA Robin Hood Group, said: “These events have become a highlight of the year for our team and the wider community. From friends gathering for Beers & Carols to families creating festive memories together, it’s all about bringing people together through joy, music, and great food - while supporting the vital work of the YMCA across Nottinghamshire.”
The Malt Cross is run by the YMCA Robin Hood Group, a regional charity whose mission is to ensure every young person is empowered to belong, contribute and thrive together in our communities, dedicated to improving long-term healthy living, youth development and social responsibility.
Tickets and booking details for the Festive Feast and all seasonal events are available on the Malt Cross website. Advance booking is recommended as events are expected to sell out quickly. Please note that Beers & Carols is an 18+ event.
