It’s in Nottingham, the city’s Business Improvement District (BID), has announced the return of the popular Christmas Market at Nottingham Castle. For the first time, the festivities will take place across three days, from Friday 28 to Sunday 30 November.
This year’s event will feature over 90 stalls offering unique gifts, local crafts, and indulgent festive treats. Inside the Makers Marquee, visitors can browse beautifully handcrafted creations from talented independents – ideal for finding that special Christmas gift.
The Christmas Market will showcase a diverse range of local traders, celebrating Nottingham’s thriving independent food, drink, and craft community. Visitors will find gifts and produce from well-known businesses, including Luisa’s Vegan Chocolate, Gourmegg, Higgins & Rose, Sidi Bou, Three Little Pickles, Hartington Creamery, and Cloth & Kin.
A variety of food and drink options will also be available, from roasted cobs by Theo’s Kitchen and poutine from Squeaky Beaver, to Indian flavours from MemSaab and First Chukka. Sweet treats include crumbles from The Pudding Pantry and seasonal drinks such as gingerbread lattes from District Coffee.
To complete the festive cheer, Castle Rock Brewery and Thirsty Farmer will be serving mulled wine, cider, and other warming refreshments throughout the event. The weekend will be packed with entertainment for all ages. On the bandstand, visitors can enjoy live performances curated by Lindley Productions, featuring Carlton Brass Band, Tash Bird, Donaghue Quartet, Vicky McClure’s Our Dementia Choir, and more. Adding to the joyful atmosphere, there will be lively Morris dancing and free roasted chestnuts to warm hands and hearts as guests explore. Around the castle grounds, families can discover a range of festive attractions – from joyful characters and enchanting carousel rides to picture-perfect moments beside Santa’s sleigh.
Access to the Christmas Market will be by pre-booked ticket only, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all visitors. Admission is £2 for adults and £1 for children under 15, including Nottingham Castle annual pass holders. No concessions are available, and £2 tickets will not be sold at the gate.
Alex Flint, CEO of It’s in Nottingham, said: “It’s in Nottingham’s Christmas Market at Nottingham Castle is a key highlight of the city’s winter offering and an important driver of activity in the city centre. Events like this not only create a memorable experience for visitors but also play a pivotal role in supporting local businesses and encouraging high footfall across the wider area. By showcasing Nottingham’s independent traders and creative talent, the market contributes to the city’s economic growth while strengthening its reputation as a vibrant destination during the Christmas season.”
Independent trader Naomi Grace, owner of Naomi Grace Ceramics, added: “This market is one of my absolute favourites and a highlight I look forward to each year. I’ve been fortunate to take part over the past few seasons, and it’s always such a joyful experience. I can’t wait to return with a fresh collection of pots and soak up the wonderful festive atmosphere once again.”
