reading time: min, words

We visit Neon Raptor, our Sneinton Market neighbours, to chat to taproom assistant Sofia Kellas.

Tell us something interesting about your pub/ bar…

Monday to Friday it’s a full on working brewery unit and Thursday through to Sunday, we are a taproom serving all drinks that are made in-house. You cannot get more local than our place.

What's the best thing about your job?

Getting to try the brewers’ experiments with beer, and definitely all the customers I get to chat with. And all the regulars are incredible people.

What's the worst?

Probably the fact that some beers just don’t get brewed again, like my all time favourite: Stomping Ground. It was a collaboration we did with Amity. Lovely while it lasted.

What's your best selling drink?

Definitely varies depending on the time of year, but right now it’s Naughty Luggage: a 6.8% NEIPA

What's your most expensive drink?

Centaur Army, a 12% imperial stout. £6 for 1/3 which ain’t too bad for the high ABV.

Describe your bar or pub in three words?

Creative, community, and innovative.

Who's the most famous person you've had drinking in your place?

Adam Richman: Man v. Food. He was across the road at Working Man’s Kitchen (shout out to Paddy) filming, and we persuaded him to try some of our beer.

What's the best thing a customer has ever said to you?

“I want something more local… like Madri.”

How would you persuade someone who's never visited your bar to entice them in?

The beers are always changing, with new bold flavours to try. You’re always spoilt for choice and there is something for everyone. And there’s pizza across the way, with a big beer garden. What more could you ask for?
