Explore the works of some of the most celebrated and prominent filmmakers of the last few decades, who have produced significant contributions to modern queer cinema. The course will comprise an overview and analysis of several queer films, critically exploring the politics of representation and visibility, as well as the values and beliefs encoded within the films' themes and depictions.  The course will include works from Todd Haynes (Safe, Far From Heaven), Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name, Queer), Céline Sciamma (Portrait of a Lady on Fire), Cheryl Dunye (Watermelon Woman), and Andrew Haigh (Weekend, All of Us Strangers).
