About the book: A Boy From Baghdad
“Jews are no longer safe in Iraq. When are you going to get it through your thick head?”
It’s 1951, and 12-year-old Salman Shasha enjoys life in Baghdad, until rising anti-Jewish sentiment forces his family to flee to Israel. But life in the “Promised Land” is far from ideal. In a refugee camp and facing discrimination from Ashkenazi Jews, Salman struggles to adjust. Turning to his love of swimming, he learns that determination and courage can overcome even the toughest challenges.
An inspiring story of resilience, identity, and hope, perfect for readers aged 8 and up.
Please select both an admission ticket and an event ticket when booking for this event.
